Remodels & Additions

Remodels and additions in Bear Lake Valley

Kitchens and bathrooms, a basement finished into living space, or the bedroom, garage or family room the house was always one short of. Additions are where it helps that we also do excavation and foundations: the new footing, the old wall and the roofline that ties them together are all ours.

Older houses, honest surprises

A lot of the houses in the valley’s towns have been standing for generations. That’s much of their appeal, and it also means a remodel can open a wall and find something nobody planned for.

We would rather tell you about it the day we find it than after it’s covered back up. An old house done right is worth more than a new one done fast.

Remodels & Additions: common questions

Can you build an addition onto an older house?

Usually, yes. The new foundation has to meet the old one properly, and the roofline has to tie in so it sheds snow rather than holding it. Because we dig and pour foundations ourselves, the whole addition stays with one contractor from the ground up.

Is winter a good time for a remodel?

For interior work, often the best time. Kitchens, bathrooms and basements don’t depend on the ground being thawed, so they fit the months when excavation and outside work have to wait.
