New home construction in Bear Lake Valley

From an empty lot to a house you can move into. We dig our own foundations, so the company that excavates the basement is the same one that builds the house on top of it: one schedule, one phone number, and nobody on site blaming the last crew.

Building for a Bear Lake winter

The valley floor sits close to 6,000 feet. Winters are long, the frost goes deep, and the snow load on a roof here is not what it is in Logan or Pocatello. A house built for this valley starts below the frost line and is framed for the weight it will carry every January.

The building season is short, too. Ground can’t be dug until it thaws, and the dry months fill up fast. The projects that get closed in before the first snow are the ones that were planned over the winter, with the lot ready the moment the ground opens.

New Homes: common questions

When should I call about building a house next summer?

Over the winter, if you can. The building season in Bear Lake Valley is short — excavation can’t start until the ground thaws — and the summer schedule fills early. Calling in winter leaves time to plan the house, the lot and the permits before the ground opens.

Can one company do the excavation and the house?

Yes. We dig foundations, build roads and run utility lines as well as building the house itself, so the whole job — from the first bucket of dirt to the finished floors — runs on one schedule with one company accountable for it.
